Frank Fitzpatrick of the Philadelphia Inquirer writes about the life of a scribe at the Winter Olympics. For outsiders and up-and-comers who think sports writers ought to simply shut up and be grateful for having a wonderful job, it might be an eye-opener. Certainly didn't strike me as an appealing 17 days.

Nothing worse than a sportswriter who complains about his lot.
Since when is the story of the Olympics about him?
So many fans, aspiring writers, and fellow scribes toiling in the trenches of prep sports who would willingly work twice as hard for those 17 days, and probably not even take the mountains of overtime pay and vacation time he'll get upon his return.
Give me a break
